TKD Tiger’s
Program (Ages 4 1/2-6
1/2)
This program focuses
on improving children’s basic motor and listening skills. These skills will
help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. Your
child will be exposed to positive social interaction. They will learn how to
work with others and follow directions.
The curriculum consists of
developing 8 major skills necessary for participation in any sport or
activity in conjunction with 8 personal development skills used to reinforce
family values. It also introduces basic Taekwon-Do techniques in an
atmosphere which combines playfulness with discipline and prepares the
student for entry into the Junior's
Program. Each class
will be limited to approximately 14 students.
When
answering the question, 'What do you expect your child to gain from the TKD
Tiger's Program?" the majority of parents indicated that they want their
children to learn the values taught at the Taekwon-Do Center -
Self-control, concentration, respect, self-discipline, and more. If you
are searching for ways to counterbalance the negative messages bombarding
your children from movies, electronic games, television and other areas,
search no further!
Children's Program (ages 6 1/2-9)
This program elevates
young martial artists into the core of our Traditional Taekwon-Do
curriculum. It is an age-specific curriculum designed to
teach children between 6 1/2 and 9 years of age and is the next stage after
the TKD Tiger's Program. This is a serious martial arts program whereby skills learned
are similar to the adult program taught with age appropriate methods. It
anchors your child to a healthy outlet and creates a vehicle for positive
personal development and character building. It also emphasizes
perseverance, goal setting, self-directed learning and prepares the student
for entry into the Juniors Program.

Benefits for Children
- Our reward system
improves children’s self-esteem.
Taekwon-Do
is a great activity for a child’s self-esteem. Our school is not like team
sports because our emphasis is on developing the individual’s self-esteem,
not the team’s winning record. Rank promotions, following strict guidelines,
along with internal rewards derived from individual achievements during
training is the key. This gives them a great sense of accomplishment that
really improves the way they feel about themselves.
- Our class structure
teaches children discipline.
One of the things
parents appreciate most about our classes is the improvement in their
child’s self-discipline. We have very patient instructors who love to work
with children. We have a lot of fun with the kids, yet we are very clear
about limits. We enforce good rules of behavior in class and we expect the
same good behavior at home and in school.
- Our activities
channel children’s aggression.
There
are and have been quite a number of children who have A.D.H.D as well as
other learning challenges. Many doctors actually prescribe Taekwon-Do
because of the positive outlet it gives the kids for all that energy.
- Our confidence
classes enhance children’s assertiveness.
Confidence is one of
the most important things we can give kids. That’s why every class we teach
has confidence-building drills included.
- Our program teaches
life skills.
Our program incorporates practical, proven
self-defense methods that your child will get better at with practice. We also
teach the kids that the moves they learn in class will work, so they don’t go
home and try them on their sibling or neighbor. We also are a licensed Safety
N.E.T Kids – No Abductions, No Abuse, No Easy Targets facility. This is a Code
Amber Endorsed program which focuses on the prevention of child abductions,
sexual abuse, and bullying.
ATTENTION
PARENTS:
The Taekwon-Do Center is renowned for its excellent children's
programs. We are dedicated to teaching your child how to be successful in
everything they do. They will develop a high tolerance to frustration and have
increased concentration. Martial arts build character, courtesy, integrity,
perseverance, confidence, self-control, self esteem, respect for self and others
and a positive attitude. Martial arts are effective in helping children develop
the confidence to handle the stress of today's school environment as well as
raise their grade levels and improve conduct. Our program teaches practical,
proven self defense methods, more importantly we teach children how to avoid
trouble in first place. We also have a Stranger Danger awareness program to help
your child avoid dangers on the streets and a Bully Prevention program to help
them be independent in school. Martial arts provide many positive traits that
will help your child through life!
Junior's
Program (Ages
10-13)
Students wishing to enroll in the Junior's
Program will find the curriculum and the training methods extensive and
varied. Students will learn traditional Taekwon-do
fundamental movements and familiarize themselves with
the application of these movements in
patterns and practical fixed
sparring exercises.
Students can then test the
effectiveness of their techniques in various ways. Power and accuracy is
demonstrated by the breaking of boards (according to age/size). Speed and
co-ordination is demonstrated in
free sparring and
close quarter self-defense situations.
A central element of Taekwon-Do
are its 24 Patterns (Tuls) which are learned as a
student progresses through the grades. Patterns are sets of various fundamental
movements, both offensive and defensive, against an imaginary opponent. These
are performed in a fixed and logical sequence to help the student to develop
correct technique, balance and precision.
Moral culture
is a fundamental part of
Taekwon-Do with emphasis placed on courtesy to others and self discipline. This
is embodied in the five Tenets of Taekwon-Do:
Training methods used range
from individual and partner
to team exercises with extensive use of kick shields and focus pads.
The learning of Taekwon-Do
techniques provide excellent fitness with conditioning and strengthening
of the entire mind and
body. The training also involves stretching and strength building exercises to
help improve flexibility, fluid range of movement and
technique.
Adults (Ages 14 to 100)
This is a traditional martial arts
program. It increases your energy and power while teaching you how to master
and maximize your willpower and focus. You learn how to get rid of stress
and maintain your ideal weight. You will learn to develop true confidence to
help you get and achieve what you really want in life. You will develop
health, strength, flexibility and balance of mind, body and spirit.
Membership offers
separate classes for both
Beginners
and
Advanced
students. In addition,
a variety of
upgrades
are also available. These classes include Masters Program & Degree
Technical Training (Blackbelts).
Martial Arts is one of the most powerful tools in
creating positive change. Through the training you will not only condition
your body but your mind as well. Your confidence will be built by
self-discipline and you will achieve greater respect for yourself and
others. You will become a more focused and motivated individual. You'll gain
self-control and the ability to resolve conflicts without violence. It's
amazing that you can develop all of these positive character traits and get
in great shape too only with martial arts.
When you begin your training, your age, gender or current physical condition
REALLY doesn't matter. Everyone begins with the basics and then naturally
move towards more advanced techniques. You work at your own pace and
training in martial arts is anything but boring. It's a high energy, fat
burning, stress reducing super charged workout all while learning the age
old art of Taekwon-Do.
NEW!! LOW IMPACT
MARTIAL ARTS (LIMA)
Martial Arts
After 40: Fitness for
the New Generation. An
integrative holistic approach to meeting the unique needs of older adults.
We don't get old because we exercise; we get old because we stop.
‘Aren’t you too old for the martial arts?”
Have you heard this question? Or maybe even looked
in the mirror and asked yourself the same thing? Well, the answer is a
resounding “NO”. Martial arts can be practiced as long as, if not longer,
than just about any other physical pursuit.
In fact, martial arts get better, not worse, with
age. Maybe you are not as fast or flexible as the younger students in class.
Perhaps you don’t recover as quickly from your workouts or you are bothered
by new aches and pains that you easily shook off when you were younger.
These are minor obstacles when you consider the benefits that come with age.
The wisdom to slow down, to see the lessons in every class, to mentor
younger students, to discover yourself from the inside out. That is what
martial arts after 40 is all about. It’s a journey of self, a discovery of
the mind and body working as one and knowing you are doing something of
great value for yourself.
A quality martial arts
school can change your life, because you will soon come to realize that
martial arts is a way of life; not merely a form of exercise or method of
self defense.
Traditional Taekwon-Do
training is one of the best forms of physical and mental
training available for older adults. It will:
·
Keep you physically &
mentally fit
·
Increase your strength &
flexibility
·
Build your self-esteem &
self-awareness
·
Leave you with an overall sense of well-being
Take the first step of

need a different approach. Master Schneider has been
